Simple Methods to Grow Avocado Tree from an Avocado Pit


Avocado makes a healthy nutritious food forever. It is an awesome summer fruit with lots and lots of high nutrition in it. Grow avocado at your own place. It is very easy to grow avocado, just by planting a seed. This fruit tree takes nearly 10 to 15 years to produce fruit from seed which is also known as pit.

You can use your grocery avocado to plant.  Remove the seed from the avocado without
damaging the seed cover which is in brown color. Make sure no fruit left on the pit. Once you removed the seed, let them soak in water for few minutes.  

Absorb the pits which can be in perfect sphere or oblong. Get a glass bowl and four toothpicks, stick the toothpicks into the pit around the circumference giving space evenly. Keep this pit on the rim of the clear glass bowl along with water and make sure the bottom of the pit rest in half of the water.

Everyday keep an eye on the pit and change the water into regular intervals. Keep them where they can get enough sunlight. Avocado pit nearly takes 5 to 6 weeks to sprout. Top of the Avocado pit will dry out and crack till the bottom of the pit where the root will emerge.

Avocado trees grows well in aerated and loose soil. The best pH for growing avocado ranges between 6 and 6.5 and they even tolerate both acidic and alkaline soils. Avocado trees don’t like damp soil. They prefer more sunlight and water them regularly.

Feed them with organic nutrients for better growth. These citrus fruit trees are self-pollinating as they have both male and female organs. Take good care of your avocado trees and have a healthy fruits.
